Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint is definitely one of the oils listed in my favorite oil category because there are so many different uses for it! I don't know of many oils that are so versatile where it can make my son more alert during school, get rid of a migraine, eliminate a fever in my 3 year old, refresh and cool us on hot days when added to water and also transform our hot chocolate into a peppermint mocha! Are you picking your jaw up off the floor yet?!?!

Peppermint is one of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for soothing digestion. A single drop of Young Living Peppermint is the equivalent of 25-28 cups of peppermint tea. It’s potent! Far more powerful than herbs. It’s carefully distilled at a low temperature and with low pressure, so that all the therapeutic properties are protected. So, if you don’t have time for 25 cups of tea, we found a solution!

Jean Valnet MD studied peppermint's supportive effect on the liver and respiratory systems. Other scientists have also researched peppermint's role in improving taste and smell when inhaled. Dr. William N. Dember of the University of Cincinnati studied peppermint's ability to improve concentration and mental sharpness. Alan Hirsch MD studied peppermint's ability to directly affect the brain's satiety center, which triggers a sensation of fullness after meals.

CAUTION: Do not use on children under 18 months. If you have sensitive skin you may prefer to dilute with a carrier oil. Avoid the eye and mucus membrane areas – if it makes contact with eye, do NOT flush with water, flush with a carrier oil such as vegetable oil or olive oil. Flushing with water will only make it worse. Do not apply to broken or sensitive skin.
